For Children

The goal is Christian formation, i.e. the gracious transformation of
our lives into the image and likeness of Christ. – Ephesians 4.13

Faith Formation Opportunities

For Youth

For Adults

We hope you will consider participating in an adult faith formation small group this fall! At the heart of United Methodist tradition is the belief that we grow best in our faith when we meet together in small groups for support in our faith journeys. We have many groups to choose from, and are always open to creating more!

We are excited to have plans under way for a revamp of our group. We will be focusing all year on service, with opportunities to serve (as well as learn and grow) at each event. Youth Group is open to 5th-12th grade and meets about once a month.

We will have a youth formation class on Sundays at 10 am. They will be using a curriculum that coordinates with what the children and an adult group are using. On occasion, they will join the adults for conversation. .

We’re excited to share the unit “Seeking God” and welcome all of our kids to ask big questions as we grow together! We will focus on sharing Bible stories, community building, peacemaking, and spiritual practices. We’re excited to include music, games, and lots of wondering!

Please be sure to register both children and youth here. This is a once-a-year form and helps us to stay up-to-date on your family’s needs.

Gather. Create. Give. Prayer Shawl Group

(Knit and Crochet)

The First & Third Wednesdays

10 am - Noon, Room 34

The Metanoia Project

The Metanoia Project will open its new seasonal shelter at Zion Hill Missionary Baptist Church, once they have obtained the necessary permits from the city. The opening had to be moved to January 16, after a court date proving that plans are underway to install a sprinkler system. UMCB volunteers will serve our first meal on March 2, March 30 and April 13. All of these dates are Sundays. If you would like to volunteer or make a contribution, please contact the church office or Laura Rushton (jlaurush@gmail.com or 567-303-1954).

We’re so glad you’re interested in joining us in
transforming the world through your discipleship!

Here are some upcoming and ongoing service opportunities.

Sold the First Sunday of Each Month

10-11 am, outside the Parlor

Equal Exchange continues to work with its farmer partners and maintain its unique supply chain with these farmers and related product producers. Equal Exchange is a good partner to people and planet. They always have the farmers and planet’s interest at heart.

Gather. Create. Give. Sewing Group

The Second Wednesday, 5 - 7 pm, Room 34

The Third Saturday, 10 am - 1 pm, Room 34.

The Gather. Create. Give. groups each gather twice a month to provide hope and share God's love by creating prayer shawls, pocket prayer cloths, and pillowcases.

There are 35 guests using the shelter. In addition to warm winter items like hats and gloves, they can always use RTA passes, handwarmers, thermal underwear, and cleaning supplies such as Clorox Wipes. Donations can be placed in the bins near Wesley Hall and Room 13.

Thank you for your support, prayers, and patience during the delay in finding a new location.
